The FG-375SII is a dreadnaught-size guitar with a solid Spruce top and laminate Rosewood back and sides. Premium appointments include Gold tuners, inlaid MOP fretboard diamonds and Yamaha logo, and a bound neck and headstock.
The top of this guitar had darkened to a beautiful honey-gold hue. With new strings the action is comfortable and true up and down the neck. The tone is bright and even. All-in-all, this is another great vintage solid-top Yamaha with a sound that matches its classic looks. And it won't break the bank.
I have a fg375s ii that bee n in a hard case for 20 years ... do you think ppl would want a guitar like this?
ReplyDeleteSure. If it is in good condition, there will always be someone willing to take it off your hands. ;)
DeleteHi Pablo! Are you still interested in selling that guitar? I would be interested to buy it. My email: juancorbellini@gmail.com

greetings!
how much is ths guitar worth i just bought it :P sounds awesome
ReplyDeleteIt's worth whatever someone will pay for it. And I'm not even being flip. Yamaha has notoriously bad records for its 1970's models, including this one. As a result the Blue Book of Acoustic Guitars does not even list the FG-375Sii. For comparison, an early 1969-1973 FG-300 has a listed value in excellent condition of $350-450.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff, I recently picked up an earlier version from 1978 and she's a beauty.
ReplyDeletestill have it, owned it since new (made in Aug 83) .... it's in near new condition ... really cant find a mark on it ... just a few very light scratches on the black scratch plate .... been in a hardcase for 5 years .... it was the best sounding guitar where I bought it from and friends have told me it sounds good .... where do you think would be the best place to put it up for sale
ReplyDeletebeen in a hard case for 35 years lol
DeleteIf you are in/near a metropolitan area, your local Craigslist is your best bet. Otherwise, look into eBay or a site dedicated to musical gear like Reverb.
DeleteI bought my Yamaha 375 SII in February of 1982, new at a music store in Salem, Ohio. It had that new guitar smell. I cannot determine whether it was made in late 1981 or earlier as it has no serial number I was ever able to locate on it. I have played it frequently and it still sounds beautiful with rich vibrant tones. My question is what years was this model produced. It says Made in Taiwan on the sound hole label.
ReplyDeleteBest I can tell you is early 80s. Yamaha lost the records on this one apparently, as the Blue Book does not even list it.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you that it is one heck of a guitar; I would not get rid of it for any reason. I have nine guitars including a 1974 Les Paul Standard. But this axe is as sweet as they come. Good action and an all around versatile guitar. It works well with an added on single coil Fishman pickup.
